EJ looked down at his hands, which were now clasped in front of him. He honestly wasn't sure what to think... While Anna was a bit awkward because of the idea of replacing his long-deceased mother, the cat himself was stressed because he had never found himself in this position. He had been very young when Terra passed, and had essentially been without a parent ever since; he was sent around with various individuals, like the Barnabys, his brother, the Brodeur twins, and now Anna and Richard. As the pass-around orphan child, this was new. And he hadn't even been with Anna very long.

Very confused, he buried his small hands in his still-damp hair. "I-I don't know, i-it just slipped... it was a slip-up. M-maybe because I'm around Rachel and that's what she calls you. I-I don't know..." He almost didn't want to admit to seeing Anna as the mother he had missed out on, out of guilt.

(So, during science today, the fire alarm went off... o7o' And I am not sure if someone pulled it or not.)

"I know, but... I hate not knowing, especially when I can know the future... It makes me feel vulnerable." Phillip admitted, and was honestly relieved to hear the stoat's firmness in her voice, especially from what happened that morning. He combed his hair out of his face, with his shoulders slumping a little, "I just want to know if you're going to be okay."

"Yes, yes, I weell..." Roy sounded a little exasperated when he spoke, but he also knew that Chase was just concerned for him. The idea of resting did seem nice, though, even though he would honestly be a little bored after a while.

Anna didn't exactly know what to say to EJ, since she had never really had this happen to her before, but it was still a very sensitive subject. She tried to reassure him, as he was not taking this well, "EJ, it's not a big deal. It's okay." Anna wasn't exactly convinced it was just a slip-up, but she wasn't going to say that. The idea of replacing his deceased mother was something she never thought about, but she ignored the thought for now, I'm sure his mother would want him to move on, right? "If you see me like that and want to call me that, it's fine."

"We'll no before long, vision or no vision..." Shiloh assured him, then paused for a moment. She nibbled her bottom lip, then added, "And I'll be okay. I mean, I'll survive... and if I'm stuck like this, I'll eventually get used to it. I'm not gonna let it bring me down forever, just... just for now, I guess. But I'll get over it." She reached up to pet his head, her fingers bumping into one of his ears by accident, but she was gentle.

As they talked, Ruth put together the medicines she wanted to try, and came out with a little white paper bag. "There are bottles of eyedrops and vitamins in here. Try using them a few times a day, and we'll see if anything improves."

Laura gave Roy a look when he spoke in that tone, as though assuring him that she would do what she could to make him rest. The marten grasped one of his thin hands and squeezed it. "You'll be yourself in no time... just a little longer, okay? You won't heal very fast if you push yourself too hard."

"I-I don't know if I want to... I-I really don't..." EJ replied, tugging a little on his large ears in stress. He so badly wanted to have someone who he could see as a mother... hell, and a father, too. He had missed out on parenting, and all he wanted were people he could rely on.
