At the Brodeurs' place, EJ was sitting down on the bed with Rachel. He was holding the feverish bat, smoothing her hair out of her face as she laid there, refusing to sleep but not wanting to get up, either... The awkward silence dragged on for a bit, but then he began to sing a little to her. His voice started out quite soft, but there was a happy note in it, nonetheless.

Rachel was enjoying the time she was spending with EJ, even though she was sick, and they really weren't doing all that much... Well, that was when the cat started to sing a little to her, which snapped Rachel out of her staring off into space daze. Her face flushed a little more, but she smiled and pressed against EJ more, her chest and throat vibrating from her purring. She absolutely adored his singing... Iy made her feel so much better.

EJ heard her faint purring even past his own words, and began to sing a little louder and with more energy, as though he really began to enjoy it. The cat kept petting Rachel's hair as well, doting on her a little and giving her the attention she really needed.

Rachel listened intently to EJ, her eyes slipping closed, but she did not sleep. She collected herself as best as she could, and sang the next verse in a quiet, somewhat hoarse voice that butchered her regular singing voice like hell. But it had been a long time since they sang together... Even though Rachel didn't sound that good, compared to EJ.

EJ was a little surprised that she joined in, especially with her sore throat making her voice all hoarse. He picked up after she sang a verse, one of his hands moving to hold her face, tilting her chin up so he could look at her and give her a sweet little smile.
