(Yeah, Wallace is certainly old enough to be her grandfather... XDDD I think they'll get along, too. Wallace is sort of the calm, quiet sort of individual. A tall, thin man but with a sturdy mentality.

Richard couldn't pull away from the cat with that look on his face... He just couldn't. The man spoke gently, not wanting the cat to freak out again, "'Ere... I weell seet wiz you..." He moved, standing up from the chair he was sitting in to sit on the side of the bed with EJ, "I weell stay for as long as you want me to."

Shay started to look actually rather depressed... the one thing he really wanted to eat wasn't here... His entire body seemed to droop, as though this was the biggest disappointment of his life.

Just then, however, one of the storage workers brought in a shipment of fruit. He started putting it in the refrigerated shelves, crates of things like oranges, apples... and... grapes. Shay just about had some sort of attack at the sight of the grapes, and enthusiastically snatched up one of the plastic bags of them. "We have the red kind!" A tiny bit of childish joy made its way into his voice, his dark eyes wide instead of narrowed into grumpy slits. "Can we get like... three bags? And maybe some oranges and apples, too? I am going to eat fruit until I explode."

The worker looked a little confused, until he realized that Shay was a bat, and then he seemed to understand. He chuckled, amused, and went back to stocking the shelves.

"Oh, I know that..." Paulette got a rather devious smile on her face. "He's such a sweet, charming boy. I'm glad my little Laura found someone as lovely as your son. I was afraid for the longest time that she wouldn't..."

EJ started to sit up again, reaching for Richard. He wanted to have someone's arms around him right now, more than anything... His breathing was rapid and noisy behind his oxygen mask as he fought to calm down, refusing to let go of Richard's shirt as he pressed close to the bat. "I... just... I can't..."

(It's funny because I eat purple grapes all the time for lunch at school... I just think about Shay and Alpha now. XD)

Alpha laughed a little, replying to the bat, "Of course... I'm certainly not going to eat them myself." The griffin was relieved and glad they brought in a fresh shipment of fruit, especially grapes... He loved seeing Shay happy. It made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. "You can get whatever you want, Shay. No one's really stopping you... Just don't take it all."

Anna looked a little sheepish at the mention of that... "Thank you... You wouldn't believe how clingy he was as a baby... I couldn't put him down for a second... And he loved to pull hair then, which wasn't fun..." Anna had pretty much chopped off all her hair around then, but as the twins grew older, she allowed it to grow out more, even though she didn't really do much with it recently...

He held EJ to him, gently petting his head and ears, even though he wished he would lie down more, just in case he got dizzy again... The older man didn't say much, but he didn't pull away from the cat that very much needed him right now. "Eet's okay... Eet's okay..."
