Laura nodded as Erik explained why he was escorting Roy, taking the bat's arm once he put her down. "Can we go? I hate the smell of hospitals..." Her sister and mother crowded around as well, eager to leave. It would be nice to go settle in to where they would be staying, even if it would be a little weird to have everyone living together at the palace. Laura was used to it being her, Roy, and her family, but Roy's parents and twin sister would be present for now as well.

Nani's ears tilted back, and she reached out to rest a hand on Aaron's arm. "It'll be okay... You and Daddy both joined with the Devas and helped a lot of people." She smiled a bit, remembering when she had first met the black-furred feline. He had been very sick, nearly dying of a fever and all alone, since none of the healers, or really anyone, wanted to offer him comfort. Nani didn't think she would ever forget the look in his eyes, or how gross his sweaty hair had felt when she petted his head to soothe him... she had first started to have feelings for him as she nursed him back to health. She could tell that he was a gentle soul from the start. Her Aaron would never do anything to hurt anyone! Not like how the Sect bosses had done!

One of the doctors looked up when Bonnie spoke, shaking his head. "It isn't a matter of whether she is a person or not; clearly, by all definitions, she is. The question is whether she is a citizen, an adult, and whether her physical state is stable enough to release her from the hospital." He turned to a nurse, who was holding one of the scanning tablets the police had back at the airship depot. "According the what records we have of this woman, she isn't as old as she seems... If we consider her emergence from the machine she was created in as her 'birth,' this woman is only about... twelve or so years old."

Evey's ears flattened as the doctor spoke to the freaky-looking rabbit lady, looking like a scared little kid as she was talked about like she was a scared little kid.

The nurse then added, "However, biologically, this woman is at the developmental stage of a grown woman nearly ten years older than that. She was 'born' as a preteen child, not an infant. So, we are not sure where she stands legally, nevermind the fact that there is no birth certificate or identity at all. Not even a legal name."

Out in the waiting room, the nurse at the computer smiled reassuringly at Zero. "We've come upon a, ah... strange discrepancy. While you consider this woman your wife, she has no identity, no legal name, and is, technically, still but a legal child no older than twelve or so."

She reached up to scratch her hair, clearly feeling awkward, but keeping a formal tone as she continued, "Can you, in all honesty and awareness of the law, vouch for her being truly an adult, emotionally and psychologically? You have seen no childlike tendencies, no emotional struggle when it comes to the... activities in your marriage? Which, by the way, is not even legal." She sighed. "We need to give miss... Eleven... an identity, but at this point we aren't sure to say if she is twelve or twenty-two." She glanced over at Libra. "And she had your baby... which you won't be in any trouble for, if the verdict is that she is, indeed, an adult."

"You know something? She has shown only normal stuff for being a full adult, the two of us have had pretty messed up lives even before the bombs fell but that's because of a certain psycho-killer and a blood thirsty terror sect that wanted all supernaturals dead. I'd say she's definitely an adult in all regards." he told her, "Eleven, is a number. Her name is Evey. Short for Evelyn. She's a 22 year old mother of Libra Evan Marshall and married to me, Jordan Marshall. We'll get the legal side of that sorted out seeing as how our marriage in Kolerin probably doesn't exist anymore. Any more questions?"

His tone sounded almost offended, he didn't mean it to but something about his wife not being considered a true living person really put him off.

"You don't 'ave to tell me twice..." Roy replied, taking her hand as they made their way out of the hospital. It didn't take long for Laura to be checked out, and Roy was just glad to have her back... At least there was something that was familiar through all the hoopla that happened... Roy breathed in a breath of cold air once they got outside, and was, for once, grateful for the outdoors.

Aaron looked up to meet Nani's eyes, visibly relaxing slightly, and he managed a small smile. Maybe it'll work out... Hopefully. "We'll... jusht have to shee what happensh..." He did have some things to back up his case... Mainly his eye and permanent lisp from the Sect.

Bonnie stared at Evey thoughtfully, thinking. This was a predicament... "Isn't a nurse speaking with her partner right now? I think we should at least wait on what he has to say before making any decisions. His testimony is important."

Paulette could also breathe a little easier once they were out of the hospital, one of her arms wrapped around Celeste to keep her close while the other hugged her jacket closer to her body. It was rather cold in Evenstell, with winter upon them... her white tail fluffed out as she attempted to warm herself up with her fur.

Laura nervously looked at the expensive-looking car that would be bringing them back to the palace, her tail swishing. "We'll be okay, right? I mean, where we're going..." Leaving the hospital didn't mean they were going anywhere less uncomfortable. Sure, it would be luxurious, but that wasn't always synonymous with relaxing or homey.

Nani smiled and nodded, rubbing his arm before removing her hand to get back to her breakfast. "It'll all be okay... Gabriels are fighters, and Daddy and I won't let anything happen. We'll tell them how it is." She sipped her tea, licking her lips and purring.

The doctor nodded at Bonnie's question. "Yes, I believe we'll be hearing from her soon." He then looked back at Evey, who seemed to glare now that she was getting tired of being talked about like she wasn't in the room.

"Um, doctor?" The nurse holding the tablet frowned as she reviewed something. "We... might have a situation."

"What kind of situation?"

"The blood test results are in, and it would seem our patient is pregnant. She already has a two-year-old son with the man in the waiting room. If she isn't legally an adult, there will be problems..."

"Pardon?!" Evey finally spoke up, getting over her discomfort to regard the doctors with her teeth bared and eyes narrowed, tail bristling. "If your test results are accurate, I'm not letting you do a thing to me! Legal adult or not, this is my body, and my child! And my little boy out in the waiting room is just as much my child. I take good care of him, regardless of how long I've actually walked this planet, because I am as capable as any of you are! He will not be taken from me, nor will his little sibling, and dear gods help you if you think you're sending my husband to prison for being with me!"

"Miss--"

"No. Let me out. I want to go home and discuss this with my husband!" Evey snapped, glowering with her ears so flat to her head they almost vanished in her wavy violet hair.

The doctor let out a breath. "Okay, but under a few conditions...

Meanwhile, the nurse in the waiting room was relaying Zero's responses to the nurse with the tablet, only to pause as she got her own feedback. "Oh... It would appear something has come up. The doctor has just told me that she will be discharged for now, but will have to come in for a more thorough psych evaluation before we can give her a legal identity. For now, she is a ward of the state, but is permitted to go home with you. One of our agents, Bonnie, will be keeping tabs on you until everything is processed."

Back in the examination room, Evey was allowed to gather her things to leave, with Bonnie escorting her back to the waiting room. She walked stiffly, the news that she was to be a mother again not fully sunken in yet, but she was not about to let anything happen to her, or either of her children, or Zero. They can make her talk to a psychologist or whatever, but there would be no drastic action taken, or she was going back to the rubble of Kolerin!

Libra, sensing his father's stress, whined and got to his feet so he could scurry over to him, clinging to his pant leg. He looked up at him with ears flat, silver eyes wide as his bottom lip stuck out. "Daddy?"

Roy spoke as he slipped into the idling car with the others, "Believe me, aftair ze Safekeep, eet might as well be 'eaven... And a lot bettair zan ze apartments ozair refugees are een currently." Roy knew he wouldn't live in the palace forever, but... He would take it until things calmed down.

"I guessh sho..." The panther tried to ignore his nagging thoughts as he sat there with his family, finally eating breakfast in peace after a long and terrifying civil war.

Bonnie trailed after Evey, and was quiet for a few moments, before she spoke quietly, "I won't let them do anything to you, or to your child... It is your's and your husband's on what you want to do, of course, but I'll see to it that you'll be processed as quickly as possible." The cyborg could relate to the ermie more or less, as she had been the first illegal cyborg in Evenstell, and it took months for the government to finally agree on letting her go. So she knew the feeling of isolation, and the government not knowing what to do with her.

Zero looked down at his son and quickly scooped up the little boy in his arms. As he saw Evey and Bonnie returning he made his way over.

"You alright, hun?" Zero asked trying to ignore Bonnie.The cyborg's presence unnerved him. With the situation of Evey's true age being in question and the charges that might come of them on his mind the last thing he needed was a dog of the Stellan government breathing down their necks constantly.

Yeah the Shirt walked into the shop and started handing out cards from the Red Cross and I got one from the Marshalls and was just kinda like "Aw! :3 )
