I bet you'll get stuck during the part right before Snowhead. My buddy and I were stuck there for a solid week and some change before we accidentally figured out what to do. We hadnt even made it up to Snowhead Temple...)

Yeah until you get the song of time the game takes forever to do anything. I'm pretty sure you can get the bomb mask early if you save the old lady that walks through North Clock Town at around midnight or 1am on the first night. Though I'm not sure if you have to be human again or not.)
