As for things on my end, my grandfather is doing better than before, but he's severely jaundiced from his liver failure. His skin and especially the whites of his eyes looked so yellow, like someone took a Sharpie highlighter to him... They're still trying to help him heal and recover, and if they can get his kidneys functioning normally (they're doing twice as well as they had been before), they can see about testing people for a "live donor" liver transplant. Essentially, they take just a piece of a person's liver and give it to him. The liver is the only organ in the human body that regenerates, so the donor's will grow back, and in my grandfather, the healthy piece taken from the donor will essentially take over and grow to become an entirely new liver for him.

Should he live long enough to make it that far, I plan on being tested along with my dad. I stand a higher chance of being a donor because I'm biologically related to him; he's my mother's father. I'm scared to death that I could be a match, but at the same time I hope I am... anything to help him.)

(Nope no medical discharge just physical therapy and possibly putting me into special ops because I kicked all the pjs Ass in swimming on a busted leg. Ahh poor pjs)

XP My mother and brother probably won't... and then my mom's brother is severely mentally retarded, so it wouldn't be wise to put him through that even if he's a match. He's about forty with the mentality of a six-year-old, and already can't handle the idea of Papa being in a hospital, nevermind having an operation himself. So, I'm the next-best thing, aside from any of his siblings, who are all rather advanced in age and may not be good candidates. There's still a chance his liver could recover, but we aren't counting on it.)

(I wouldn't count on it recovering not at this age. Bt a donors liver is still viable and normally liver is like one of the easiet and safest)
